MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Phillip Leonard scored a game-high 19 points as Mercer dominated cold-shooting Johnson & Wales (NC) 109-56 on Wednesday night.
Leonard was 6 of 9 from the floor for the Bears (3-2). Ike Nwamu had 13 points with six assists and Anthony White Jr. scored 12 points. Jibri Bryan had 10 points and led the team with nine rebounds.
The Bears sank 59 percent from the field and 74 percent from the line, a stark contrast to the Wildcats who hit only 28 percent from the floor. Mercer led 59-28 at the half.
DeQuincey Bennett led Johnson & Wales with 17 points before fouling out. The Wildcats hit 11 of 37 from the 3-point line with Bennett leading the team with five three-pointers.
