For the first time in 186 weeks, a new name will be featured atop the WTA world rankings.

Because of Serena Williams’ stunning loss Thursday in the semifinals of the US Open, Angelique Kerber is now set to take over her No. 1 slot.

Before she faces off against Karolina Pliskova in Saturday’s US Open final, here is everything you need to know about the German tennis star.

  • At 28 years old, Kerber is the oldest player to debut at No. 1 and the first German to hold the honor since Steffi Graf’s reign ended in 1997.

  • Kerber counts Graf as her idol and has trained with her in Las Vegas.

“Steffi is a great champion, a great person and I think she’s proud of me to be the next No. 1 after her,” Kerber said after her semifinal win Thursday.

  • Kerber has enjoyed a breakout 2016, besting Williams for her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open and finishing runner-up at Wimbledon. She also added a silver medal at this summer’s Olympics.

  • Kerber is known for her excellent return game. In 51 matches this year, Kerber has won 46.9 percent of return points and 43.1 percent of return games.

  • New York has a special place in Kerber’s heart, as it’s the place she first burst onto the scene as a semifinalist in 2011. She’s been in the top-10 ever since, but this past January’s showdown in Melbourne was her Grand Slam final.

  • Kerber holds both German and Polish citizenship and trains in Poland, where her grandfather has built a tennis academy in her name.
