Tim Brown:

McCourty gets extension from Titans

National Football Post

When the Tennessee Titans allowed Cortland Finnegan to walk away in the off-season, many wondered whatthe team would do at the position.

The Titans decided the status quo would be just fine, with Jason McCourty being one of the leaders of that group. On Thursday, the Titans rewarded McCourty with a five-year extension worth $43 million, and one that includes $20 million in guaranteed money, according to TitanInsider.com.

McCourty is the third player in the secondary the Titans have locked up in the post-Finnegan era, as safeties Michael Griffin and Jordan Babineaux both got contracts in the off-season.
