Mavericks bring back James

The Dallas Mavericks re-signed center Bernard James on Friday, the team announced.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed by the team.

James, the former Air Force sargeant who served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Quatar, played in 46 games and started 11 for the Maverics last season as a rookie, averaging 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds.

The Mavericks had waived the 6-foot-10 James on July 19. Once he cleared waivers, he was brought back to the team.
