Cavani netted twice in PSG's 2-1 Coupe de la Ligue win over Saint-Etienne in extra time on Wednesday and Matuidi believes the former Napoli star has proven that he is a world-class attacker.
"Cavani is a great striker. He is world class, just like Ibrahimovic. We are fortunate to have both of them," the France international told reporters. "Edinson is the type of player who always knows exactly where the goal is, but there's much more to him.
"He is obviously important when he's attacking, but he also does a lot of defensive work. He always works hard for the team."
Cavani has so far netted 18 goals in 23 official appearances for Paris Saint-Germain.
