Mason Plumlee posts double-double, Nets sneak past Pistons

Mason Plumlee earned his fourth double-double this season, scoring 21 points and registering 12 rebounds, to help the Brooklyn Nets slip by the Detroit Pistons, 110-105. The Nets had a strong shooting performance in this game, finishing 40-76 (52.6%). Brooklyn (11-15) gets one in the win column after losing to Cleveland on Friday.

Plumlee went 9-10 from the field, in a strong performance. Other top contributors for Brooklyn included Joe Johnson with 16 points and seven assists, Jarrett Jack with 15 points and 10 assists, and Mirza Teletovic with 13 points and seven rebounds. On 6-15 shooting, including 5-10 from behind the arc, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope put up 20 points for Detroit in the loss. Andre Drummond added 18 points and 20 rebounds, Greg Monroe finished with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Josh Smith put up 13 points and six assists.

The Nets recorded a FTA rate of 38.2 to go alongside their 57.9% eFG%. They are undefeated (2-0) on the season when eclipsing 35.0 and 55% in those respective offensive factors. The Pistons, however, are winless (0-2) when allowing opponents to reach those thresholds.

Detroit (5-23) has now dropped their last four in a row.

Coming up, the Nets take on the Denver Nuggets, who are 12-15 on the season. The Pistons match up with the Indiana Pacers, currently sitting at 8-19 this year.
