England's Euro 2012 hopes were dealt a mighty blow Thursday when star striker Wayne Rooney was suspended for the first three games of the tournament. Rooney was sent off in England's final qualifying game, a 2-2 draw at Montenegro, and had hoped that UEFA chiefs would sit him out for only one or two matches.

England coach Fabio Capello now faces a tough decision on whether to even select Rooney in his squad for the tournament, given that he could take part only from the quarterfinals onward – if England gets that far.

Rooney's troubles headlined this week's Yahoo! Soccer Podcast, in conjunction with World Football Daily, in which Y! soccer expert Martin Rogers discusses the Manchester United forward's issues with leading English expert Neil Ashton of the Daily Mail.

David Conn of the Guardian also is a guest, discussing the ambitious plans of Liverpool owner John Henry to break away and negotiate an overseas television rights package independently from the rest of the English Premier League.

United States goalkeeping legend Kasey Keller is on the line to talk about USA's early struggles under new coach Jurgen Klinsmann, while Sophie Nicolaou and Rogers break down the week's news and predict the winners in this weekend's big matches.
