Marlins' Stanton to play Thursday
Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton will be back in the lineup Thursday, he said before Wednesday's game against the Washington Nationals.
Stanton, 23, sat out for the sixth straight game Wednesday with a shoulder injury.
The Marlins are averaging less than two runs per game in Stanton's absence.
The biggest power threat and run producer in the Marlins' lineup, Stanton is off to a slow start with a .167 average and no home runs.
He said he would be in back in the lineup Thursday, the first of a four-game series with the Cincinnati Reds.
