The Miami Marlins traded first baseman Gaby Sanchez to the Pittsburgh Pirates for outfielder Gorkys Hernandez, right-handed reliever Kyle Kaminska and a competitive balance pick, multiple sources reported Tuesday.

Sanchez has struggled with a .202 batting average this season and was sent down to the minors July 5 to try to work through those struggles. He hit 19 homers in 2010 and 2011 and entered this season with a .269 career average.

Kaminska has a 5.20 ERA with the Marlins top two minor league affiliates and Hernandez has appeared in 25 games for the Pirates this year.

FOX Sports first reported the deal, the addition of Kaminska was reported by the MLB Network and Baseball American reported that the competitive balance pick going to Miami is the No. 33 overall selection in next year's first-year player draft. MLB recommended a bonus of $1.525 million for the 33rd overall selection this year.
