Markieff Morris, Eric Bledsoe push Suns past Timberwolves

Markieff Morris came off the bench and scored 25 points and added 8 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns to a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 127-120. The Suns were on fire from the field in this one, going 46-80 (57.5%). This is the third consecutive win for Phoenix (41-29).

Morris went 10-13 (3-3 from three-point range) in a quality offensive outing. Other top contributors for Phoenix included Eric Bledsoe with 21 points and 5 rebounds, P.J. Tucker with 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Goran Dragic with 18 points and 6 assists. Kevin Love had another big game for Minnesota in the loss, scoring 36 points on 11-27 shooting (3-10 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 11-12 from the free throw line. He also added 14 rebounds and 9 assists. Ricky Rubio contributed 19 points and 9 assists.

Along with their eFG% of 65.0%, the Suns connected at a rate of 44.4% from 3-point range. On the season, they are 15-2 when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Timberwolves are 2-12 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.

This drops Minnesota (34-34) to 1-2 versus Phoenix on the season.

Coming up, the Suns square off against the Atlanta Hawks, who are 31-37 on the season. The Timberwolves meet the Memphis Grizzlies, currently sitting at 41-28 this year. The Suns are 1-0 versus Atlanta this season. The Timberwolves have a 1-1 record against Memphis this season.
