The Seattle Mariners have called up right-handed reliever Stephen Pryor from Class AAA Tacoma, the team announced Friday.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Mariners moved left-handed pitcher George Sherrill from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL.
Pryor has a 0-0 record with nine saves and a 0.64 ERA in 21 games this season. He was promoted from Class AA Jackson to Tacoma earlier this season. His nine saves leads all Mariners minor-leaguers.
Sherrill, 35, had Tommy John surgery last month. He had allowed four earned runs in 1 1/3 innings this season.
