Marcus Morris scores 20, Suns defeat Kings

The Phoenix Suns were on fire from the field in this one, going 46-94 (48.9%), to beat the Sacramento Kings, 115-106. This is the fifth win in a row for Phoenix (17-14).

Marcus Morris came off the bench and scored 20 points on 7-12 shooting, including 6-7 on 3-point attempts, in an efficient offensive performance. Phoenix also got solid performances from Eric Bledsoe with 18 points and six assists, Goran Dragic with 16 points and six assists, and Alex Len with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Despite the loss, Darren Collison put up 19 points for Sacramento on 5-12 shooting (4-7 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 5-6 from the free throw line. Reggie Evans added 11 points and 16 rebounds.

Along with their eFG% of 56.4%, the Suns connected at a rate of 42.4% from 3-point range. On the season, they are 7-2 when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Kings are winless (0-4) when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.

This drops Sacramento (12-17) to 1-1 against Phoenix on the year.

Coming up next, the Suns square off against the Los Angeles Lakers, who are 9-21 on the year. The Kings match up with the New York Knicks, currently 5-26 this season. The Suns won their last two meetings with Los Angeles.
