Marco Fabian and Jorge Enriquez aren’t going anywhere, despite interest from European clubs.
Chivas de Guadalajara Coach Benjamin Galindo announced Tuesday that the club directors have made the decision to keep the two young El Tri stars in Guadalajara for at least one more tournament.
“What we spoke about with the board was that this tournament they should stay here,” Galindo told media. “Possibly in the future [they could go], but for this tournament, they’re going to stay here.”
The decision comes after teams in Germany had expressed strong interest in Fabian. The player travelled to Europe in December, presumably to negotiate a transfer.
Enriquez has reportedly been sought after by Portuguese teams. Both young Chivas stars played large roles in El Tri’s run to the Olympic gold medal last summer.
