The Wizards played an efficient game offensively, shooting 40-85 (47.1%) from the field and turning it over just seven times. Washington (15-17) entered the game on a three losing streak.
Gortat finished 7-13 from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line. Other top performers for Washington were John Wall with 17 points and 8 assists, and Trevor Booker with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Gerald Henderson had another quality performance for Charlotte in the loss, putting up 27 points on 10-19 shooting from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line. He also tallied 7 rebounds. Kemba Walker contributed 19 points and 8 assists.
After putting up a sparkling assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.86, the Wizards are undefeated (3-0) on the season when eclipsing 2.50 in this category. However, the Bobcats are winless (0-3) when allowing their opponents to achieve such a lofty ratio.
Charlotte (15-21) couldn't get consecutive victories after beating Sacramento on Saturday.
Coming up, the Wizards take on the New Orleans Pelicans, who are 15-18 on the season. The Bobcats match up with the Minnesota Timberwolves, currently sitting at 17-17 this year.
