The Toronto Maple Leafs
will use their final games of the season to take a closer look at one of their top prospects, as the team summoned forward Joe Colborne
from the AHL's Toronto Marlies.
Colborne, 22, has played nine games for the Leafs in 2011-12, with a goal and three assists. In 60 games for the Marlies, he has 16 goals and 21 assists. The 6-foot-5 Calgary native was a first-round pick (16th overall) of the Boston Bruins
in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, and was acquired along with a first-round draft pick in exchange for Tomas Kaberle
The Maple Leafs (34-36-9, fourth in Northeast Division) have been eliminated from playoff contention. They face the Buffalo Sabres
(38-31-10, third in Northeast Division) on Tuesday night at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo.
