Manziel tweets: 'can't wait to leave college station'

Johnny Manziel, who swore off using Twitter in March because he said it was too distracting, brought more negative attention on himself with a late-night tweet that was captured by followers and sent to Deadspin.com.

"Bull---- like tonight is a reason why I can't wait to leave college station...whenever it may be," the tweet attributed to Manziel read at 1:38 a.m. Sunday before being deleted.

What prompted the posting is unknown, but he also wrote, "Don't ever forget that I love A&M with all of my heart, but please please walk a day in my shoes"

The tweets led to a flurry of responses from followers, and comes less than three months after Manziel had closed his Twitter account.

"I kind of just shut it all off," the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner said, according to ESPN.com on March 27. "With how the media has been with me for a while, I just shut everything off. I said I was done with it for however long. It's fun to have, but it can get to be distracting at points."

Manziel's off-the-field adventures are well-documented since he rose to prominence last season as a redshirt freshman. Much has been made of his decision to take all of his classes online this spring because of the attention his new-found fame brought when he was campus. He also has been seen at the NBA Finals, on vacation during break in Mexico, attending Mardi Gras and has even appeared in a country music video.

In March, it was reported that Manziel shoved a graduate assistant coach after throwing an interception during a spring scrimmage.
