RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- George Beamon scored 19 points to lead Manhattan College to an 83-57 win over Fairfield in a conference matchup Saturday night.
The Jaspers (11-2, 4-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) jumped to an early lead with 11 unanswered points sparked by a Beamon 3-pointer and never looked back, taking a 43-28 advantage into the break and continuing to break away in the second half.
Rich Williams contributed 14 points, Shane Richards added 13 and Rhamel Brown had 12 for Manhattan, which shot 51 percent from the field, including 8 of 16 from 3-point range. It was the eighth-straight win for the Jaspers.
Fairfield (3-11, 0-4) opened the second half by keeping pace with Manhattan over the first seven minutes but couldn't close the gap as the Jaspers put the game away with a 15-3 run with 9:16 left.
Maurice Barrow led the Stags with 17 points.
