Manchester City has confirmed the signing of Spain and Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo in a deal thought to be worth up to about 24 million pounds.
The 27-year-old Negredo scored 63 goals in 95 appearances for Sevilla but will now wear the No. 9 shirt for the Citizens as new boss Manuel Pellegrini's fourth signing at the Etihad Stadium. Negredo follows in the footsteps of Fernandinho, Stevan Jovetic and former teammate Jesus Navas, who joined City from Sevilla earlier this summer.
"City are delighted to announce the signing of Alvaro Negredo, who becomes the club’s third new recruit of the summer," read a statement. "He will join up with the squad on the pre-season tour, and wear the No. 9 shirt."
