BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -- Johnathan Jordan scored 15 points and dished out a career-high 11 assists Saturday night, helping Texas A&M-Corpus Christi snap a 12-game losing streak with a 62-56 victory over free-falling Lamar.
Jordan, a sophomore, added five rebounds and three steals for the Islanders (2-12, 1-3 Southland), who also got 13 points and nine rebounds from Will Nelson and 10 points from Hameed Ali.
The Islanders never trailed but saw Lamar pull within 57-54 on Keilan Blanks' layup with 1:26 left. But Jordan made five free throws in the final 23 seconds to seal the victory.
The Cardinals still lead the all-time series with A&M-Corpus Christi, 15-5.
