Luol Deng recorded his fifth double-double this season, scoring 17 points and registering 11 rebounds, to help the Chicago Bulls take down the Atlanta Hawks, 91-84. This is the second win in as many games for Chicago (14-18) after beating Boston on Thursday.
Deng went 5-15 and converted 6-6 from the free throw line. Other key performers for Chicago were D.J. Augustin with 11 points and 7 assists, Joakim Noah with 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Taj Gibson with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Despite the loss, Jeff Teague scored 16 points for Atlanta on 7-16 shooting. Jeff Teague contributed 16 points and 6 assists and DeMarre Carroll finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The Hawks posted an eFG% of just 41.9%, including 28.6% from 3-point range. This year, they are 2-2 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Bulls are 7-3 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.
Atlanta (18-16) has now lost back-to-back games after falling to Golden State on Friday.
Coming up, the Bulls square off with the Phoenix Suns, who are 20-12 on the season. The Hawks meet the Brooklyn Nets, currently sitting at 12-21 this year.
