Lucescu: Juventus is the example to follow in Serie A

Mircea Lucescu has claimed that Luiz Adriano's controversial goal in Shakhtar Donetsk's 5-2 victory over Nordsjaelland was driven by instinct.

Danes' goalkeeper Jesper Hansen was expecting the ball to be played back to him by Willian, but the pass was instantly collected by the Brazilian, who went on to tap home the equalizer.

"I'm very sorry that we scored a goal that caused so much controversy," he said after the match. "Luiz Adriano told me that his instinct made him score the goal.

"Afterward, we let our opponents back into the match, but [Taras] Stepanenko did not understand our instructions. Fortunately, it was quickly settled.

"We deserved to win as we were the better team. Again, I apologize for what happened in [the build-up to] Adriano's goal."

However, after being questioned by one journalist who asked whether he would punish the player following his behavior, Lucescu angrily replied: "Have you ever played soccer to ask me these questions? It was a mistake that happened during the game.

"We are very proud of this victory and it should have been 10-2 [not 5-2]! I apologized, what else do you want me to do?"
