The Uruguayan hitman was rewarded by his peers for a season in which he has scored 30 goals and made 12 assists so far in the Premier League, despite missing the start of the campaign because of a suspension.
"We've just arrived from the Player of the Year awards," Suarez enthused in a video posted to his official YouTube account, with the trophy in his arms. "I'm very happy with this award - thanks to all of the players who voted for me.
"Congratulations to all of my teammates too; I couldn't have won this award without them."
"Special thanks to Sofia, my wife, who is here to enjoy it with me, and to my two children, who I love with all my soul," he continued. "And thanks to all of the supporters who have helped me too."
