LSU-Wisconsin game set for Lambeau in 2016
The Green Bay Packers on Friday confirmed that LSU will play Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in Green Bay in both teams' 2016 college football season opener.
The University of Wisconsin Board of Trustees reviewed and accepted the terms of the contract on Thursday. The University of Wisconsin, the official home team for the game, is expected to be paid $3 million for holding the game at Lambeau, which is the Packers' home field.
The game will be played Sept. 3, 2016, and represents the fourth college football game to be played at Lambeau Field. But it will be the first game at Lambeau featuring two FBS teams.
St. Norbert College twice hosted Fordham University at Lambeau Field in a Vince Lombardi Memorial Game, in 1982 and 1983. St. Norbert beat Mankato State College on Oct. 29, 1960.
"I'm very excited about this game and I hope our fans are too," UW athletic director Barry Alvarez said in a statement. "We have a great working relationship with the Packers and Mark Murphy and I want to thank them for all their help in getting this game scheduled. It is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our program, a great experience for our players to play in one of the most revered stadiums in the country and a terrific chance for our fans to see us play a quality opponent in the state of Wisconsin."
LSU and Wisconsin will also play each other in their 2014 season openers, with that game to be played at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

"It will be an exciting weekend for football fans at our historic stadium. The Green Bay community will serve as an excellent host and we all look forward to seeing fans from both teams that weekend.

Wisconsin will be given 40,000 tickets - about half of Lambeau's capacity.
