The LPGA's Kia Classic will move to Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, Calif. in March, tournament director Dennis Baggett told U-T San Diego. The tournament had been played at the La Costa Resort & Spa in two of its first three years, but the course is planning renovations. Baggett said Kia signed a new three-year deal to be the sponsor and the tournament is expected to be held at Aviara each year. The second stop on the tour's schedule, the Kia Classic will be played March 21-24 in 2013. "We're really excited about this," Baggett told the website. "The LPGA and Kia wanted to keep it in North County in San Diego, and Aviara is a great golf course. The way it sets up will be great for an LPGA tournament."
