Loyola-Maryland 74, St. Peters 58

Senior forward Erik Etherly produced one of his finest performances of the season, leading host Loyola-Maryland to a 74-58 victory over St. Peters in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Sunday at Reitz Arena.

Etherly established season highs with 24 points and five blocked shots while grabbing seven rebounds for the Greyhounds (11-5, 3-1 MAAC). Etherly was one of three players who scored in double figures for Loyola, which shot 49 percent from the field. He made 6 of 12 from 3-point range and converted 18 of 22 free-throw attempts.

Junior guard Dylon Cormier scored 18 points and senior guard Robert Olson added 17 for the Greyhounds.

Senior guard Yvon Raymond scored 16 points for the Peacocks (6-8, 1-3), who have lost three of their last four and eight of 11.

The Greyhounds jumped out to an early 14-3 lead and never trailed.

The Peacocks cut the Loyola lead to two when Markese Tucker scored with 10:27 to play in the opening half, but the Greyhounds responded with a 15-0 run to take command.

They led 39-26 at the break and led by as many as 19 in the second half.
