Loyola (Maryland) 65, Fairfield 60

Dylon Cormier led Loyola (Maryland) with 21 points, and the Greyhounds posted a 65-60 win over Fairfield on Monday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game in Bridgeport, Conn.

Erik Etherly added 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds for Loyola (14-6, 6-2 MAAC). Jordan Latham scored 10 points for the Greyhounds.

Cormier averages 17.4 points per game. He scored a season-high 27 points in a November win over Coppin State.

Derek Needham had a game-high 23 points for the Stags (10-10, 2-6). He was coming off a 26-point performance in Friday's loss at Iona. Fairfield's Amadou Sibide contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds against Loyola.

The Greyhounds hit an impressive 50 percent of their shots (19 of 38) while limiting the Stags to 42.2 percent shooting (19 of 45).

Loyola won for the fifth time in six games. The Greyhounds continue their road trip Friday night with a game at Manhattan.

Fairfield, which has a five-game losing streak, plays host to Marist on Thursday night.
