Fantasy Football 2014:

Losses by Baylor, Stanford change women's NCAA Tournament

The SportsXchange

The shocking upset of No. 1-ranked Baylor on Sunday following Saturday's elimination of another No. 1 seed, Stanford, has changed the complexion of the women's NCAA Tournament.

With all five starters back from last year's undefeated national championship team, Baylor was a heavy favorite to win it all again. But fifth-seeded Louisville stopped Baylor's 32-game winning streak as Monique Reid hit two free throws with two seconds left to give the Cardinals an 82-81 victory.

So it will be Louisville (27-8) in the Elite Eight against No. 2 seed Tennessee on Tuesday in the finals of the Oklahoma City Regional.

No. 4 seeded Georgia pulled off the other major upset of the Sweet 16, beating No. 1 seeded Stanford 61-59 on Saturday to advance to the Spokane Regional finals on Monday against No. 2-seeded Cal.

The other two No. 1 seeds - Connecticut and Notre Dame of the Big East - both rolled into the Elite Eight without much difficulty.

UConn took out Maryland 76-50 on Saturday and will play No. 2 seeded Kentucky in the Bridgeport, Conn., Regional finals on Monday.

Notre Dame will play No. 2 seeded Duke in Tuesday's Norfolk Regional finals after hammering No. 12 seeded Kansas 93-63 on Sunday.

Three teams from Southeastern Conference - Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia - and three teams from the Big East - Louisville, Notre Dame and UConn - make up six of the eight teams remaining.
