Los Angeles Clippers 2012-2013 Game-by-Game Predictions: One NBA Fan's Outlook

Yahoo Contributor Network

The Los Angeles Clippers will open the 2012-2013 season with a good mix of new and old faces. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, the faces of the franchise, will be joined by some of the core contributors from last season's team as well as some incoming veterans who will make contributions of their own.

Point guard Eric Bledsoe, small forward Caron Butler and center DeAndre Jordan are all returning and will provide some stability to a team with a multitude of new faces joining the roster. Additionally, Chauncey Billups, who missed all but 20 games last season, will likely return to the lineup sometime in November.

Three of the six newcomers are accomplished veterans who are likely to make a substantial impact on the Clippers this season. Two of them, Jamal Crawford (2010) and Lamar Odom (2011) are former Sixth Man of the Year Award winners. Grant Hill, who has been a positive influence on every team he has played for, shared Rookie of the Year honors with Jason Kidd back in 1995.

Through stability, solid contributions from the newcomers and the All-Star play of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, the Clippers have a legitimate chance at a 50-win season and will make the playoffs in two consecutive years for the first time in two decades.
