London Fletcher's streak of 231 consecutive games is ... questionable

National Football Post

London Fletcher’s streak of 231 consecutive NFL games played in could be in jeopardy on Sunday as the Washington Redskins middle linebacker is questionable with a hamstring strain.

Fletcher sat out practice this week until doing some work on Friday. The streak isn’t the only thing at stake here. Fletcher is the leader of the defense and ensures his teammates are lined up correctly. The Redskins face a formidable challenge against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I was encouraged by today,” Fletcher said on Friday, according to the Washington Post. “It felt good to get out there and run around. It’s still another 48 hours until game day, so hopefully I keep improving.”

Obviously, Fletcher has been a quick healer to have the kind of consecutive games streak he has. He’s not going to let that weigh on his mind too much.

“I don’t really think about it a lot until people talk about it,” Fletcher said. “I always take it as the mindset of if I’m ready to play a game, I’m ready to play a game. That’s just really how it’s been. I love being out there with my teammates, love being out there on the field playing football. That’s really just how I approach it.”
