Locker officially a go as Titans starter

National Football Post

Jake Locker is officially the Tennessee Titans starter again after a full week of work and even being bumped around some in the pocket to get him used to the rigors of being in the line of fire again.

Coach Mike Munchak made the announcement on Friday that Locker would be under center against the Miami Dolphins after Locker had worked all week getting the starting reps without any issues with his healing left shoulder. In Thursday's practice, according to, Locker was even knocked to the ground by defensive end Kamerion Wimbley and bounced right back up from it.

“Unless something comes up between now and then, he looks like he’s ready to go,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “He moved around well, his reactions were good, just things you look for to see if someone is limited in any way where we felt that he wouldn’t be able to play at the level he needs to physically. We didn’t see any of that.”

Locker has not played since Sept. 30 when he was hit by Houston Texans defensive back Glover Quin, dislocating the shoulder for the second time this season. He also hurt the shoulder in the season opener vs. New England.
