NEW YORK – Though I am a frequent flier and have covered many a pro football game in Denver, I am not, nor have I ever been, a card-carrying member of the Mile High Club. And while I’m afraid that airship has probably sailed for this travel-weary soccer dad, I believe there is a way for me to experience a measure of ecstasy while traversing the friendly skies.
Thanks to the magic of in-flight Internet access, I’ll be attempting the first airborne Live Trippin’ on Tuesday as I make my way back from the East Coast (where I saw Mark Sanchez(notes) come of age Sunday) to the Best Coast (as in Jahvid, for those of you who aren’t yet hip to my 2010 fantasy football breakout pick).
Tune in to gripe about your favorite team’s ranking in 32 Questions, mock me for the shoddy performance Friday night by my alma mater in Reno, Nev., or to break down one of the many quarterback controversies that are already brewing two weeks into the 2010 season.
Barring technical difficulties, we’ll keep it going for a generous hour (take that, Mile High Club members) and leave everyone except the haters feeling mighty satisfied. And if my morning starts out with those three simple words that I find so arousing – “You’ve been upgraded” – the ride will be all the more memorable.
