Lions head coach Jim Schwartz announced Monday that WR Titus Young will be inactive for the Week 12 game against the Texans.
Schwartz said it’s a behavioral issue and that Young’s behavior impacted the team, particularly the offense, during their Week 11 loss to the Packers. Young was sent home from the team facility on Monday.
Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and WRs coach Shawn Jefferson were caught on camera having a heated exchange late in the game. Schwartz said that the two coaches “were actually on the same side of the argument.”
Schwartz said that Young was in the wrong spot on a second-down play in the red zone when OT Gosder Cherilus was penalized for a false start.
“He needs to be a team player and he needs to put the team before himself,” Schwartz said.
In the preseason, Young got into a fight with teammate S Louis Delmas and was sent home from the facility.
Young, a second-year pro, has 33 catches for 383 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games and eight starts this season.
