The Detroit Lions gave coach Jim Schwartz a multiyear contract extension after leading the team to a 10-6 record and playoff appearance last year.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Detroitlions.com reported the new deal, citing a league source.
Schwartz took over a 0-16 team after the 2008 season. In his three years as Detroit's coach, the Lions have gone 2-14, 6-10 and 10-6. He was entering the final year of a four-year contract.
Schwartz has said repeatedly in the past that he does not comment on his contracts.
