Detroit Lions linebacker Ronnell Lewis was arrested on three misdemeanor charges after an early Saturday morning incident in Norman, Okla.

According to the Norman Police department, Lewis was involved in a altercation at a campus-area bar and charged with disturbing the peace, public intoxication and interfering with official procedure stemming from a fight that started inside and spilled outside.

The police indicated that Lewis was asked to leave the bar and then would not comply with police demands at the scene to stop fighting. Police used a taser to confine him and another man.

Lewis was taken to a local hospital and then booked into jail.

A fourth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma last year, Lewis played in eight games for the Lions in 2012, mostly on special teams.

"We are aware of the incident involving Ronnell Lewis," the Lions said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."
