"Line Walker 2" begins principal photography in October
29 Aug - Following the announcement that the sequel to the hit 2014 drama, "Line Walker" will be in production soon, it was revealed that the Jazz Boon thriller will begin its principal photography this October.
As reported on Tencent Entertainment, the drama, which will mark the return of original star Michael Miu and Benz Hui, is reportedly not the sequel as it was mentioned, but a prequel that will tie the loose ends left by the ending of the original series.
It may also not be linked to the recently released movie version.
The upcoming drama is said to reveal the mysterious background of Benz's character, triad leader Foon Hei.
In addition to the original stars, the drama will also be headlined by Jessica Hsuan, Pakho Chau, Priscilla Wong, Moses Chan, and Benjamin Yuen. Two of the latter will be playing the role of triad bosses.
The drama is a collaboration between TVB and mainland media giant Tencent's own production company, Penguin Pictures, and is scheduled for a June 2017 release.
It will also be part of the TVB 50th Anniversary dramas, aside from "Beyond The Realm of Conscience 2", "Again at the Treshold of an Era" and a sequel to "Heart of Greed".
