Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has ruled out a move away from the Etihad Stadium during the January transfer window, despite the 30-year-old’s limited first-team involvement so far this season.

The England center back has been dropped from the Premier League champions’ starting line-up in recent weeks by boss Roberto Mancini, prompting reported interest from Aston Villa, QPR and former club Everton.

And, following Villans boss Paul Lambert refusing to rule out a move for the out-of-favor center back, a spokesman for player has released a statement committing Lescott to City for the foreseeable future.

"Joleon Lescott has ruled out the possibility of any loan move during the January transfer window," the spokesperson said.

"Despite speculation linking him with several Premier League clubs, Joleon has no desire to leave Manchester City."

Mancini has already ruled out an exit for the England international in January, with Kolo Toure due to leave for the Africa Cup of Nations shortly.

"We can't sell players," Mancini told reporters last week. "We won't have enough to play if we sell."
