Lehigh won its fourth straight game and fifth in its last six with a 76-69 victory over LIU Brooklyn Monday night at Lehigh's Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pa. With the victory, Lehigh moves over .500 for the first time this season, at 6-5, while LIU Brooklyn fell to 2-6. Lehigh sophomore forward Jesse Chuku scored a team-high 15 points, and freshman guard Austin Price and freshman center Tim Kempton added 13 points each. LIU Brooklyn was led by junior forward Landon Atterberry's 15. Lehigh took a 64-55 lead on a 3-pointer by Price with 6:19 to play. LIU Brooklyn got within 72-68 with 50 seconds left on a pair of free throws by senior guard Jason Brickman, who leads the nation in assists. But with seven seconds left, a pair of free throws by Lehigh junior guard Corey Schaefer sealed it for the Mountain Hawks, 76-69. Lehigh took a 41-36 lead into halftime. Over the first 20 minutes, the Mountain Hawks shot a very good 15 of 24 from the floor, while the Blackbirds were 12-for-31. LIU Brooklyn's Atterberry led all scorers at intermission with 11 points.
