Montreal Canadiens winger Max Pacioretty will not be subject to any supplementary discipline as a result of his hit on New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh on Saturday, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.
Pacioretty had a Sunday hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety regarding the hit, which occurred in the second period and put McDonagh out of the game.
Pacioretty earned a boarding minor penalty on the play.
Rangers coach John Tortorella may not be satisfied with the ruling. After the game, he said, according to ESPN.com, "How high did Pacioretty jump on his hit? [Can] anybody give me an answer?"
