LaMarcus Aldridge scored 44 points and recorded 13 rebounds to help the Portland Trail Blazers pull out the close victory against the Denver Nuggets, 110-105. The Trail Blazers put together a very efficient performance, turning it over on only nine possessions while totaling 29 assists. Portland (32-11) picked up the win after falling to Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.
Aldridge finished 15-29 and converted 14-17 from the free throw line. Robin Lopez contributed 12 points and 9 rebounds for Portland as well. Despite the loss, Wilson Chandler put up 18 points for Denver on 7-11 shooting from the field and 3-4 from the free throw line. J.J. Hickson contributed 12 points and 7 rebounds.
The Trail Blazers posted a sterling assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.22. This year, they are 6-2 when they exceed 2.50 in this metric. Conversely, the Nuggets are 1-4 when allowing their opponents to achieve such a stellar ratio.
Denver (20-21) has now lost three consecutive games.
Coming up, the Trail Blazers square off against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are 20-21 on the season. The Nuggets match up with the Indiana Pacers, currently sitting at 33-8 this year. The Trail Blazers have a 0-1 record against Minnesota this season.
