The Los Angeles Lakers released guard Chris Duhon on Saturday, the team announced. The move allows the Lakers to save $2 million before his $3.5 million contract for next season would have become fully guaranteed on Monday. The team is still responsible for paying him $1.5 million. Duhon, 30, averaged 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 46 games for the Lakers this past season. The former Duke point guard also has played for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Orlando Magic. .
