Three years removed from his lone NBA stint, forward Marcus Landry signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, the team announced.

Landry, 27, played his way into a contract with a strong performance for the Lakers' team in the Las Vegas Summer League, scoring 15.2 points and grabbing 4.2 rebounds per game in five contests.

The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Wisconsin product played 17 games with the New York Knicks in 2009-10, averaging 2.4 points in 6.2 minutes. He then saw brief action for the Boston Celtics in one game the same season, going scoreless.

Landry subsequently played in Spain, China, Venezuela and Puerto Rico, and he's seen action in the NBA Development League the past three seasons. Over the past two years with the Reno Bighorns, he averaged 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He won the league's 3-point shootout in February.

Sacramento Kings forward Carl Landry is Marcus Landry's older brother.
