Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash will not play in the team's critical final regular-season game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, but the Lakers hope he can play in the postseason if the Lakers get into the playoffs, the team announced Tuesday.
Nash, who has not played since March 30, underwent an MRI exam, which showed problems with his hip and back that are causing pain in his hamstring. Nash received an epidural injection Tuesday morning.
The Lakers can guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs if they beat the Rockets, but they'll have to do it without Nash.
If the Lakers lose Wednesday and the Utah Jazz beat the Grizzlies, the Lakers will miss the playoffs.
