The Lakers and free agent forward Antawn Jamison agreed to terms of a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum salary on Thursday. Jamison ended negotiations with the Charlotte Bobcats.
Jamison, 36, was targeted for his ability to provide scoring and rebounding off the bench. The Lakers struggled in both areas last season and Jamison averaged 17.2 points per game last season.
He started all 65 games last season with the Cavaliers and played for the Cavaliers in 2010 under then-coach Mike Brown and is familiar with the team's offense. Jamison was acquired from the Washington Wizards at the trade deadline in '10 and spent 25 games with Cleveland that season.
In his career, Jamison averages 19.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, spanning 985 games with Golden State, Dallas, Washington and Cleveland.
