EASTON, Pa. (AP) -- Bryce Scott hit a 3-pointer with 3 seconds remaining to give Lafayette a 72-70 victory over Sacred Heart in a nonconference game Sunday.
The Leopards (4-8), who led 34-31 at halftime, overcame a brilliant second half by Shane Gibson of the Pioneers (2-6), who scored 25 points after being held scoreless in the first half. He made 5 of 8 from 3-point range and 10 of 14 shots overall in the final 20 minutes.
The Leopards scored 18 of the game's first 20 points, but Sacred Heart tied the game at 31 after a 22-6 run, including nine points by Steve Glowiak.
Levi Giese's 3-pointer gave Lafayette its halftime margin.
