Lafayette snapped a three-year losing skid to Lehigh and stopped its five-game winning streak with a surprising 78-57 Patriot League blowout of the Mountain Hawks at Lehigh's Stabler Arena on Sunday. Lafayette improved to 10-12 overall and 3-2 in the Patriot League, while Lehigh suffered its first Patriot League loss, dropping to 14-5 overall and 4-1 in the league. Lafayette was led by Levi Giese's game-high 17 points, with Dan Trist chipping in with 14 points and the Leopards received 13 points each from Seth Hinrichs, Tony Johnson and Joey Ptasinski. Lehigh was led by B.J. Bailey, Gabe Knutson and Mackey McKnight, who each scored 12. Lafayette took a 30-22 lead into halftime. Lehigh led early, 4-2, on a 3-pointer by Bailey with 16:36 left in half. But after Lafayette's Johnson hit a 3-point shot with 11:12 remaining in the half, which gave the Leopards a 14-11 lead, Lafayette never trailed again. The Leopards largest lead was 73-48 after a Giese layup with 4:03 left to play. Lafayette made 16 of its first 21 shots in the second half.
