Lackey to resume throwing Tuesday

Boston Red Sox pitcher John Lackey, who has been sidelined with a strained biceps, was cleared to resume throwing.

Red Sox manager John Farrell told the Boston Globe that Lackey will start throwing on Tuesday, adding, "The symptoms have subsided."

Lackey has been out since April 6, although the injury is not as serious as originally feared. He is eligible to return from the disabled list next Monday, but the Red Sox have not provided a timetable for his possible return to the rotation.

Lackey is 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA this season after missing all of the 2012 season following Tommy John surgery.
