La Salle beats Charlotte 85-72, sets arena record

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Tyreek Duren scored 22 points and Jerrell Wright added 18 as La Salle defeated Charlotte 85-72 Wednesday night in an Atlantic 10 Conference game.

The Explorers (17-6, 5-2) won their fourth consecutive game and remained unbeaten this season in 12 games at Tom Gola Arena, breaking their record for wins in a season at the facility, which opened in February 1998.

It was their 14th consecutive home victory, dating to last season.

La Salle scored the first nine points of the second half after leading 39-36 at halftime, but the 49ers (10-11, 2-6), with Chris Braswell scoring six of his 19 points, cut the lead to 51-50.

A 3-pointer by Duren started an 11-2 La Salle run that put the Explorers in front 68-57 with 5:09 left.

Sam Mills and Earl Pettis each scored 13 points for La Salle

DeMario Mayfield and Javarris Barnett had 15 apiece for Charlotte.
