LA Galaxy No. 8 in Week 24 MLS Power Rankings: Fan's Reaction

The Los Angeles Galaxy are up to No. 8 this week in the Week 24 MLS Power Rankings. The Galaxy got a road draw last week against the Columbus Crew without Designated Players Landon Donovan and David Beckham. The Galaxy moved up one spot this week due to their solid draw and the Vancouver Whitecaps losing a pair of matches by a score of 2-0 last week.

Here's the complete MLS Power Rankings for Week 24:

#1 San Jose Earthquakes, no change

#2 Sporting Kansas City, no change

#3 New York Red Bulls, up from #4

#4 Houston Dynamo, down from #3

#5 Seattle Sounders, up from #6

#6 Real Salt Lake, down from #5

#7 Chicago Fire, up from #8

#8 Los Angeles Galaxy, up from #9

#9 Vancouver Whitecaps, down from #7

#10 FC Dallas, up from #13

    #11 Montreal Impact, no change

    #12 D.C. United, down from #10

#13 Columbus Crew, down from #12

    #14 Colorado Rapids, no change

    #15 Chivas USA, no change

    #16 Philadelphia Union, no change

#17 New England Revolution, no change

    #18 Toronto FC, no change

    #19 Portland Timbers, no change

There was no change at the top or even the bottom of the rankings despite uninspiring results. San Jose was soundly beaten by Montreal and has won just two matches out of their last five. Sporting Kansas City edged MLS' current worst team in Toronto FC. The Red Bulls moved up one spot even after needing a furious comeback to top the Timbers, a very bad road side. Houston dropped one spot after a draw with the Crew. Seattle shutout the Whitecaps to move back into the top five.

The Galaxy have FC Dallas next in MLS play at the Home Depot Center on Aug. 26. Our side will host Isidro Metapan on Thursday before the Dallas match in a Group 5 game in the CONCACAF Champions League. The Galaxy's crowded schedule and the return to form of David Ferreira will make Dallas a hard team for the Galaxy to defeat. Dallas has won three matches in a row, including a pair of wins last week.
