Kurt Coleman joins the Vikings

Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Kurt Coleman has joined the Minnesota Vikings, according to his agent, Blake Baratz.

Coleman visited the Vikings last week and previously visited the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets.

Coleman, 25, is a former Ohio State standout drafted by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL draft.

As a reserve last season, Coleman had 14 tackles.

He was a starter until last season and had 93 tackles and two interceptions during the 2012 season when he started 14 games.

He had a career-high four interceptions in 2011 as he started 13 games and had 78 tackles.

For his career, Coleman has 221 tackles and seven interceptions.

Coleman was an All-Big Ten Conference selection for the Buckeyes.
