What's buzzing:

Krzyzewski still pondering USA Basketball

The SportsXchange

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski told Sports Illustrated on Saturday that he may stay on as coach of USA Basketball.

He said last year that he would no longer coach the team but now he is thinking about remaining with the team through the 2016 Olympics.

"There's a chance," Krzyzewski said.

Krzyzewski said he has not made a final decision and has discussed the subject with USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo.

"I think it's very close to being resolved," Colangelo said. "That's all I can say for sure. ... Give it another week and it should be resolved."

Krzyzewski has insisted that he would step down since winning the gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics and as recently as February has reiterated that he will not return.

The team will compete in the 2014 World Championships in Madrid, before preparing for the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro.

Krzyzewski took over as coach in 2005 and has gone 62-1, including Olympic gold medals in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012. The team also won gold in the 2010 World Championships in Istanbul and bronze at the 2006 World Championships in Japan. The loss came to Greece in that tournament.
